Bored out of my wits
Haha. I must be the most boring person on Earth. I have a blog, which I'm too lazy to update cos what on Earth can I talk about. I can't say anything about politics cos I'm too poor to pay for defamations or even get a lawyer. I can't say anything about my job as... face it.... I do not want to degrade a certain type of profession which is supposed to be like highly looked upon. Or at least they thot they are highly regarded in the eyes of the public....
I can, however, comment about my most beloved country... hehe
I mean seriously, I love my country. It's safe, it's secure, away from natural disasters, I can get anything I wan, provided I pay pay pay. If I do not have money, I can still stay but i have to work much much harder and live with less conveniences.
So why am I complaining so much?
I'm not saying SG's customer service is excellent too. My officers have poor customer service attitude. Yup! It's not a skill. It's an attitude. Neither is it a system. Customer service cannot be taught. It comes from within. It's the difference between a people person and a systems person. Also, I'm not implying that a systems person gives lousy service as compared to a people person. Just saying that there is a difference.
When my mother in law was hospitalised, I see a difference in SG born/trained nurses and foreign born/trained nurses. While SG born/trained nurses are more skilled when it comes to injections, medication administrations bla bla bla, they lacked the human side of nursing. The foreign born/trained nurses lacked the skill but are excellent in making the patients feel at home, which is, being psychology trained,IMHO, an important factor to healing.
Which comes to my next point.... Foreigners taking over our jobs.
In the past (meaning prior to last year), foreigners working in SG meant that they are working in 2 extreme levels. The Directors, Consultants and all those atas atas positions (usually from 1st world countries) or the domestic helpers and construction workers (usually from developing or underdeveloped countries).
Now, we have Nepalese waiters, Filipino phone operators, China born chinese cashiers, Indonesian sales rep.... where do our locals fit in? Are we doomed to stay at middle management all our lives? Even then, do we face the threat of foreigners who demand less pay but with better working attitude. From where I stand, I foresee a problem to be faced by the future SGeans. Esp those that do not do well in school, stop at N or O levels or ITE.... those with bad attitude.... those pampared babies who think that the world owe them a living.
When can we start to teach our kids to be humble? When can we start to teach them lessons in life? When can we teach them to survive? Who to teach them? Parents, Teachers, Caregivers or even Maids? If they can't survive in the future, who is to be blamed? Parents, teachers, caregivers, maids or the kids themselves?
All I can say for those of you with homosapien kids..... Good luck! If you don't teach them well, it's no use crying over spilt milk. you only have yourself to blame. So, if you are sent to the old folks home, don't blame the child. Blame yourselves!
Peace!

I'm not Singaporean if I don't complain, right?
Well, since we are safe, secure, bla bla bla... SGeans are bloody PAMPERED. We complain of the poor customer service but how to we treat them? Paying peanuts and expect a 15 carat diamond? Worse, complain that they pay taxes (I wonder IF they actually even pay income tax in the 1st place) and don't get the service they deserve.
